This Long 360 Diesel has air in the fuel system and the manual is very poor in detailing how to bleed it out. The first bleed point is the filter. Crack the bolt on top and operate the hand pump until no bubbles come out. Good. The next point to bleed is not clear in the manual. It looks like maybe the fuel pump? If I skip that and go on and bleed the injectors it will run a while then quit.Any hints are appreciated..Stanley

I had the same basic problem with my Ford 1500. All I could do is open the fittings one at a time. I applied pressure by applying air pressureto the fuel cell while my son cranked the engine. As fuel surfaced and bubbled over I reattached each fitting all the way to the injectors. Took about 5 minutes total. I know that a Ford isn't a Longbut I hope thesame theory may spark some ideas. Feel free to e-mail me. Regards Paul ....

This is not one of the newer models. It is about 10 years old. Overall it has been a good machine. I have experienced only one major problem - a leaking seal and now this fuel thing which was brought on by letting it get to a low fuel level. The Hydraylics are not as responsive as I would like. Some folks don't like the hand clutch for PTO operation. I don't regret buying it. ....
